Alicia and Joe’s wedding was a day to remember. Not just because it completely Rocked my flipping Socks, but because Joe has been apart of my life since birth! He is my cousin and he beats me by half a year in age.. with that said.. he was the closest thing to a big brother I have ever had. We were quite close, spent many rainy summer afternoons playing in cardboard boxes pretending we were space travelers, then growing up and traveling across the world to Africa together right out of high school. Joe has always been a traveler… He’s a natural born journeyman, well heck, he was practically born in a plane- his dad is a pilot. When Alicia came along it only made logical sense for her to also enjoy travel and seeing the world and serving in the mission field as much as him… so they did! And just when the time was right to FINALLY POP THE QUESTION (from my personal cousin’s perspective- IT was an ETERNITY!) he completely made it happen in his usual Joe way- They went to Europe and saw Paris and England. It was while they were there that he staged a tourist to take their ‘picture’ but really it was video and he proposed to her on a tour…. Ohhhhh, how I love them and their story. I wish everyone reading this could truly understand the emotional value and true reflection of Joe and Alicia I attempted to portray in their wedding day images.. so if you see anything that catches your eye and looks less than usual (refer to the picture of Joe buttoning his vest) just know I wouldn’t have it any other way.
They started off their wedding day at the Courtyard Marriot in Downtown St. Pete and we proceeded to Vinoy Park for some pre-ceremony, first look, formal awesomeness. Then we headed to NOVA 535 for the magic to take place… It could not have been a nicer, more Joe and Alicia-type of venue and a grand party followed the ceremony too.
