When I decided last March that I was going to collect shoes for orphans in West Africa and Ecuador I had no idea what a huge outpouring of support I would receive. Something as simple as a little Facebook post to my friends landed me into some really amazing opportunities at really awesome schools which lead to over 3,600 pairs of shoes collected… but never did I think I’d get a wedding booking from such a project… Welp- God is pretty cool and put me right in the hands of Jamie’s mom at a shoe drive I was collecting at her school and it just so happened her daughter was engaged to a really awesome guy only a few weeks prior to that… The Rest is History! Jamie and Robbie met me for the consultation and we hit it off… She also has a heart for Africa and spent some time in the same places I’ve been and was also in the beginning stages of starting a non-profit, teaching children with special needs photography. In short- We became instant friends.
Robbie and Jamie got married at her parents lake home in beautiful Odessa. She is the youngest (and only girl) of 4 kids and all of her older brothers had since gotten married on the same grounds.. so it was extremely humbling to be the last person to photograph such an important series in their family’s history.
Jamie and Robbie had a pre-game prayer before the ceremony began with everyone watching… not a dry eye in the place.
It wouldn’t be right to not give appropriate acknowledgement to all of the children that made their wedding day possible… Jamie and Robbie have a total of 7 nieces and nephews, all quite small and super cute! They made the day extra fun to photograph and that couldn’t have been made possible without Jamie’s amazingly fun-loving brothers and sister-in-laws… Gotta love this family!
